Featured Sessions and Fun on Friday

  • AAA Conference

Friday morning got off to a quick start with the Understanding the Fatigue Factor: Measuring and Managing Listening-Related Fatigue featured session presented by Ben Hornsby, PhD. Dr. Hornsby delivered an engaging message about the connection between fatigue and hearing-loss.

Later in the morning, we hosted the Marion Downs Lecture in Pediatric Audiology: The Journey to Universal Screening for Congenital Cytomegalovirus Infection…the EHDI Experience, and It’s “Déjà Vu All Over Again” session, presented by Mark Schleiss, MD, and Angela Shoup, PhD. Sponsored by the William Demant Foundation, the lecture covered the early hearing detection and intervention (EHDI) experience and the journey toward universal screening for congenital cytomegalovirus infection (cCMV).

Meanwhile, Starkey hosted their Industry Symposium: Innovate, Integrate, and Elevate: Excellence in Hearing Health Care, where attendees had a chance to hear insights about innovations in hearing health care, the significance of the patient experience, and the opportunities ahead for the industry.

In between sessions, attendees were able to unwind at the new “Paws and Relax” event (sponsored by HearingLife) in the HearTECH Expo. Thanks to Furkids for bringing in some adorable puppies to keep us company!

Looking Ahead

Spend your final afternoon of AAA 2024 at the Pediatrics and Practice Management Discussion Forums and the Hearing Aids in Review: 2023 Featured Session. Close out the final night with Audiology’s Night Out at World of Coca-Cola (sponsored by Amplifon).
