Message from the
Chair of the American
Board of Audiology: May 2022

  • ABA News

It was great to see most of the ABA Board of Directors at our in-person meeting on March 30 at AAA 2022+HearTECH Expo in St. Louis, and to see many of our credential holders at the ABA Meet and Greet that same day.

The conference also featured 72 Tier 1 and 16 professional ethics CEU opportunities. Having the opportunity to meet for an extended time in-person allowed us to consider new activities and potentially new programs that we will be sharing more about throughout this year. As we establish some task forces to begin this work, we will be reaching out to some of you who are not on the board to help.

The ABA Certification is the most rigorous credential available to audiologists and includes the highest level of continuing education requirements. Please join me in becoming an ambassador for the ABA by promoting ABA certifications and certificates to your colleagues who want to differentiate themselves and their practice. Audiologists who hold the ABA Certified credential are clearly committed to life-long learning and the value that evidence-based patient care can bring to the communities they serve.

Your ABA Board of Directors is working diligently to continue to improve messaging and opportunities available to audiologists practicing at the highest level of their scope. More to come soon!

Best Wishes,

Sandra Gabbard, PhD
